Hawkeye:-

Hawkeye is an American television miniseries created by Jonathan Igla for the streaming service Disney+, based on Marvel Comics featuring the characters Clint Barton / Hawkeye and Kate Bishop / Hawkeye. It is the fifth television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, sharing continuity with the films of the franchise and taking place after the events of the film Avengers: Endgame (2019). Igla serves as head writer with Rhys Thomas leading the directing team.
Jeremy Renner reprises his role as Clint Barton from the film series, with Hailee Steinfeld joining him as Kate Bishop. Tony Dalton, Fra Fee, Brian d'Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga, Alaqua Cox, and Zahn McClarnon also star. Marvel Studios was developing a limited series for Disney+ centered on Hawkeye by April 2019, with Renner returning. The series was officially announced that July and Igla joined in September, with Steinfeld unofficially attached at that point. Thomas and Bert amp; Bertie joined as directors in July 2020 and filming began in New York City that December. Steinfeld and additional cast members were confirmed, and filming concluded in late April 2021.

Additional shooting took place in Atlanta, Georgia. Matt Fraction and David Aja's Hawkeye comic run served as a major influence on the series. Hawkeye premiered its first two episodes on November 24, 2021, and will consist of six episodes, concluding on December 22. It is part of Phase Four of the MCU. The series has received positive reviews, with critics highlighting its action sequences and the lead actors' chemistry. A spin-off series, Echo, focusing on Cox's character Maya Lopez / Echo, is in development.

Plot:-

The Hawkeye series picks up on plot threads set up by Avengers: Endgame, which saw Clint Barton lose his wife and children in the snap and adopt the persona of murderous vigilante, Ronin. After many months violently executing leading figures in the world’s top criminal gangs, Clint was pulled back from the brink by old friend Black Widow, who reunited him with the surviving Avengers and helped him get his family back. However, that dark chapter of his life has caught up to him in the present day, as a Ronin copycat begins taking on New York City’s most dangerous foes – a mysterious figure later revealed to be none other than Kate Bishop. As seen in the recent Hawkeye trailer, the two characters will cross paths and work together to get themselves out of a tough situation, with the hope being that Clint will make it back home in time for Christmas.
As established in the Black Widow post-credits scene, the series will also see deadly spy Yelena Belova track Clint down, seeking revenge for his role in the death of her adoptive sister, Natasha Romanoff. Of course, we know that Clint did everything he could to stop Nat from sacrificing herself, but Yelena is seemingly being manipulated by the villainous Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. There could also be some flashbacks to Clint’s time as an agent of SHIELD, as a recent set photo saw him sporting a quiver with the now-defunct organisation’s logo on it. Black Widow star David Harbour recently weighed in on the Hawkeye series, saying that he’d love to see his own character Red Guardian seek out Clint Barton on a quest for retribution.
“When he finds out that she was on that cliff with Hawkeye and maybe the version of the story he hears is that Hawkeye pushed her off or something, it’s a moment when Red Guardian turns back to the guy he was,” Harbour told Insider. “He now wants vengeance for her. That I feel would play well.” We’re unlikely to see that confrontation in the Hawkeye series, with Harbour not among the names on the official cast list, but the two characters could clash further down the line. After completing filming on his solo series, Renner assured fans that “this is not goodbye,” suggesting he has no plans to depart from his Marvel role in the near future and could well be back in future projects – perhaps even a second season of Hawkeye.

Casting:-

With the series official announcement in July 2019, Renner was confirmed to be starring in the series as Barton. By early September 2019, Hailee Steinfeld had been offered the role of Kate Bishop, but had not yet signed on for the series a month later. Variety reported one reason for this was a non-compete clause in her contract with Apple TV+ for starring in the series Dickinson, something Variety felt Steinfeld would be able to negotiate out of. No other actresses had been approached for the role of Bishop. When asked about her starring in the series shortly after, Steinfeld said it was "not something thats necessarily happening"; Steinfeld was confirmed as Bishop in December 2020. Tran noted that Marvel Studios "couldn't quite talk about her involvement" before when they announced her in the role, adding that Steinfeld was never out of contention and Marvel was just "trying to figure out how we can carry out the series" between the initial reports and the start of filming to have it release during the 2021 holiday season.
Additional cast members also announced in December 2020 were Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova / Black Widow, Fra Fee as Kazimierz "Kazi" Kazimierczak,Tony Dalton as Jack Duquesne, Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez / Echo, Zahn McClarnon as William Lopez, and Brian d'Arcy James as Derek Bishop.Pugh reprises her role from Black Widow (2021),which has a post-credits scene in which Belova is tasked by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine to hunt Barton for his role in her sister-figure Natasha Romanoff's death. Dalton was cast after Tran was impressed with his performance on the series Better Call Saul. The same month, set photos revealed that Ben Sakamoto, Ava Russo, and Cade Woodward would reprise their respective roles as Barton's children Cooper, Lila, and Nathaniel from previous MCU films in the series.Linda Cardellini was revealed to be reprising her role as Barton's wife Laura in October 2021. Aleks Paunovic and Piotr Adamczyk also star in the series as Ivan and Tomas, respectively, members of the Tracksuit Mafia, along with Simon Callow as Armand Duquesne III.

Episode 1 "Never Meet Your Heroes":-
In 2012, during the Battle of New York,[a] a young Kate Bishop witnesses Clint Barton battling the Chitauri and aspires to become a hero like him after he inadvertently saves her life, although Bishop's father is killed during the attack. In the present day, Barton spends time with his children in New York for Christmas. Bishop attends a charity auction gala with her mother Eleanor and learns that she is engaged to Jack Duquesne. Underneath the gala, she stumbles onto a black market auction featuring items recovered from the remains of the Avengers Compound,[b] finding Duquesne and his uncle Armand III among the attendees. The auction is interrupted by the Tracksuit Mafia, a Russian street gang which attempts to recover a watch among the items. Bishop recovers Barton's Ronin suit and defeats the Tracksuit Mafia members while wearing it. She escapes to her apartment after rescuing a stray dog and tracks down Armand to investigate further. Bishop discovers that Armand has been murdered in his home and is cornered by the Tracksuit Mafia members after fleeing the crime scene. Barton, who saw a news report of the Ronin's return, rescues Bishop from the gangsters.
Episode 2 "Hide and Seek":-
Bishop takes Barton back to her apartment but is attacked by the Tracksuit Mafia. The pair is forced to evacuate, leaving the Ronin suit behind. After relocating to the apartment of Bishop's vacationing aunt, Barton sends his children back home, promising to return by Christmas Day. He escorts Bishop to her workplace, then recovers the Ronin suit from a firefighter named Grills at a LARP event. Later, Bishop fails to convince Eleanor of Duquesne's involvement in Armand's death. After challenging Duquesne to a fencing duel, she tries to contact Barton, not knowing that he has allowed himself to be captured by the Tracksuit Mafia. She tracks down Barton's location but ends up being captured herself, and the gang informs their boss, Maya Lopez, of Barton and Bishop's captivity.
Episode 3 "Echoes":-
Lopez interrogates Barton and Bishop about Ronin, who killed her father in the past. Barton manages to free himself and fend off the Tracksuit Mafia, though Lopez breaks his hearing aid in the process. After Bishop is freed, the pair escapes the Tracksuit Mafia and gets Barton's hearing aid fixed. Moving to another location, Lopez's lieutenant Kazi advises her not to get into trouble with her "uncle". Intending to learn more about the Tracksuit Mafia as well as Duquesne, Bishop convinces Barton to infiltrate Eleanor's penthouse and use her company account to look up Bishop Security's criminal database. However, Bishop is locked out of the system when attempting to bypass security, while Barton encounters Duquesne, who threatens him with Ronin's sword.
Episode 4 "Partners, Am I Right?":-
Barton defuses the situation after Eleanor and Duquesne recognize him as an Avenger. Eleanor asks him to keep Bishop out of his investigation and later contacts an unknown person to inform them of the situation. With the help of his wife Laura, Barton discovers that Duquesne is the CEO of Sloan Limited, a shell corporation that launders money for the Tracksuit Mafia, while Bishop deduces that Barton was Ronin. Barton locates Kazi and asks him to talk Lopez out of her vendetta against Ronin while Kate enlists the LARPers in retrieving the arrows. Afterwards, Laura informs Barton that the watch stolen by the Tracksuit Mafia is sending out tracking signals from an apartment building. Barton and Bishop go to retrieve it, and find out the watch is located in Lopez's apartment, where she also keeps notes on Barton and his family. Lopez appears and attacks Bishop, while Barton is ambushed by a masked assassin. A fight ensues between Barton and Bishop, Lopez, and the assassin; Bishop injures Lopez, forcing her to retreat, while Barton unmasks his assailant, who is revealed to be Yelena Belova before she escapes. Barton, realising the danger of a Black Widow assassin attacking them, decides that he cannot keep putting Bishop in danger and breaks off their partnership.
Episode 5 "Ronin":-
In 2018, Belova and Sonya, a fellow Black Widow, subdue a woman named Annie in her house who has been helping deprogrammed Black Widows. After going to wash her hands in the bathroom, Belova gets "snapped" out of existence and subsequently "blipped" 5 years later. Months later, Bishop returns to her mother's house and informs her about Duquesne's shell corporation, leading Eleanor to call the cops and have him arrested. Bishop then goes back to her apartment where she finds Belova waiting for her. Belova tells Bishop about her past and her mission to kill Barton.[c] After recovering at Grills' apartment, Barton visits the Avengers memorial and apologizes aloud to Natasha Romanoff, then puts on the Ronin suit and challenges Lopez to a fight at the auto shop where her father was killed. After incapacitating the Tracksuit Mafia, Barton unmasks himself and tries to convince Lopez to end her vendetta and stop pursuing his family. He reveals that he was tipped off by an informant working for Lopez's boss who wanted her father dead. Bishop returns to assist Barton against Lopez and helps him escape. Lopez does not believe Barton at first, but later questions Kazi, who she suspects of knowing more information about the event. The next day, Belova sends Bishop a text that reveals that she was hired by Eleanor to kill Barton and that Eleanor is working with Lopez's "uncle", who Clint identifies as Kingpin.
